Web Accessibility: The Key to a More Inclusive Online World
June 20, 2023- 2:00pm – 3:00pm Eastern
Diversity and inclusion are top-of-mind with accounting firm leadership, but the firm’s website is often an overlooked part of that initiative. Today, most websites are not accessible to all site visitors. People with vision, hearing, dexterity or cognitive disabilities may not be able to fully access or navigate your site. Clients, prospects, employees, and potential recruits should all be able to explore your website easily and enjoyably. During this session, we will explain how to make immediate updates as well as programmatic changes to improve your site to make it more inclusive for all visitors.
- What is ADA compliance?
- What is web accessibility and why is it important?
- What are the visual considerations (color blindness, color contrast, motion control, etc.)?
- What are the content concerns (alt image tags, link naming, closed captioning, etc.)?
- What is needed programmatically (for screen readers, tap navigation, etc.)?
- How can you incorporate accessibility considerations into your marketing beyond the website?
- Tools to use and steps to take
