About Gabe
I proudly identify with my Argentine heritage, which has deeply influenced my values, worldview, and sense of community. Growing up in that culture provided me with a strong foundation of resilience and adaptability, and instilled in me the power of connection and the vibrant passion that characterizes South American cultures. However, having spent most of my adult life in the U.S., traveled extensively abroad, and being influenced by not just my Argentine roots but also European, I’ve cultivated a more expansive and nuanced global outlook. These diverse experiences have shaped me into someone who embraces a variety of perspectives, cultures, and ways of thinking.
Specifically, as it relates to the field of marketing and design, my multicultural background and ability to speak multiple languages allow me to approach creative challenges with a unique, multidimensional lens—one that values nuance, diversity, and global connection. Whether I’m crafting messages or designing visual elements, I’m always mindful of how to create work that resonates authentically across cultures or segments. My experiences have given me the ability to merge Argentine warmth, European sophistication, and American innovation, resulting in work that is strategic, impactful, and human at its core.
Career
I began my career at younger age in an agency environment, Ogilvy (fka Ogilvy & Mather) starting as a runner and quickly advancing to account executive. This experience provided an invaluable foundation for my marketing career, where I worked with multinational companies such as American Express and Shell Oil Co. During this time, I gained firsthand experience in the creative process, promotion and public relations, marketing fundamentals, enhancing client value, and understanding the distinctions between services and products.
After moving to the U.S., I found an opportunity to enter the legal industry, a field I initially knew nothing about. I started as a business manager and grew professionally as the firm hired its first Director of Marketing, who became my mentor and helped me discover a great career opportunity in professional services. It was during this period that I discovered a strong passion for service over product marketing. I continued in legal marketing until 2009, at which time (in part “assisted” by an economic recession impacting law firms and the Seattle market), I transitioned to the accounting sector. Since my early days, I’ve played various roles, from coordinator to manager, and eventually Director of Marketing and Business Development.
The importance of a global perspective
In my view, visibility, inclusion, and representation are essential for fostering innovation and creating meaningful connections in today’s globalized world. Embracing diverse perspectives allows us to better understand and serve clients, enhance collaboration, and drive creativity. A global perspective is key—not only to broaden our thinking but to ensure that our industry reflects the rich diversity of the world we live in. By championing inclusion, we open doors to new ideas and solutions that strengthen both our work and our community.
However, inclusion and representation should not be mere checkboxes. The goal should always be to recognize and value the best skills and talents, regardless of background. This is a sensitive topic that warrants deeper discussion, but from my perspective, I strongly advocate for fair opportunities for everyone. I believe this approach not only strengthens our work but also drives us toward a more inclusive and thriving environment, where opportunities are based on capability and potential rather than traditional or limited criteria.
Disrupting conventional thinking
I believe my unique background enables me to approach challenges from a fresh perspective, positively disrupting conventional thinking. I’m always seeking innovative ways to solve problems and identify opportunities that may be less visible to others. This distinctive viewpoint drives creativity and encourages teams to explore unconventional approaches, leading to more effective and forward-thinking solutions. The result for firms is not just staying ahead of the competition but also achieving sustainable growth by adapting to change and uncovering untapped potential in the market.
In an experience-driven economy, where business leaders make decisions based on the experience they expect, it’s critical to embrace what makes you different. If the best we can do is imitate the competition, we lose our authenticity. By embracing our unique strengths, we create truly distinct value, which resonates with clients and sets us apart in ways that matter.
In my view, this approach to marketing is more impactful because I see it as a powerful driver of demand creation and meaningful business growth. By challenging conventional wisdom and embracing diverse perspectives, we shape strategies that foster engaging conversations and resonate deeply with audiences. This not only builds stronger connections and greater trust but also ultimately leads to a positive impact on the bottom line.
