Virtual Collaboration Tools in a Remote World – TechNOWlogy

Back in the good old days of in-person team meetings, whiteboards and sticky notes played a significant role in brainstorming and strategy. These visual collaboration components are missing from most virtual meetings, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Online whiteboards and digital sticky notes allow teams to collaborate and brainstorm in real time just as if they were in the office.
Paid Option
Lucidchart is a visual workspace that combines diagramming, data visualization and collaboration. It is fluid and easy to learn, with well-stocked libraries of templates and objects. Lucidchart is worth the spend for organizations that require a more robust platform as it includes complex diagramming tools, real-time co-authoring, in-editor chat and integration with niche applications. Its interface is straightforward, making it accessible to even the most technically challenged team members, and it has some great value-added features such as revision history, freehand drawing and sticky note conversion. Lucidchart plans start at $7.95 per month.
Another paid option to check out is Stormboard, which offers features such as built-in business processes and instant meeting notes. It also provides sales management tools to coordinate cross-functional efforts and features a unique “Buying Motivations” template that allows users to identify their target customer and break down their motivations for purchasing to craft more targeted marketing plans.
