SUMMARY:Virtual Campfire: Modernizing Your Content Marketing Machine
DESCRIPTION:Content expectations have exploded\, but most accounting marketing teams are still asked to do more with the same (or fewer) resources. This conversation explores how to build a sustainable content engine—from smart repurposing and SME enablement to workflow tools and AI. You’ll leave with ideas to take your content from reactive to strategic while keeping your sanity intact. \nWhat is a Virtual Campfire? Pull up a seat and join fellow accounting marketers around the virtual campfire for peer-to-peer conversations about what’s really happening in our firms. These informal\, member-driven sessions are designed as a safe space to share pressing challenges\, compare notes\, and learn from each other’s experiences. Co-hosted by industry veterans\, Kelsey Brewer (CMO at McGuire Sponsel) and Alyson Fieldman (CGO at Stambaugh Ness)\, each virtual campfire features at least one subject matter expert to share their wisdom. \nThere’s no formal presentation – just open\, candid dialogue. Regardless of the topic du jour\, this is your place to ask questions\, swap stories\, and crowdsource solutions with people who truly get it. Open to AAM members at all career levels and in all roles. Come ready to share\, listen\, and leave with fresh perspective\, practical ideas\, and the reassuring reminder that you’re not in this alone. \nSpeakers \nStacy Dreher | Chief Growth Officer\, James Moore & Co. \n“I began my journey in professional services sales and marketing in 2006 in the legal industry\, where I led a growth team at a boutique nationwide firm responsible for bringing in all new business. In 2014\, I transitioned into public accounting as a marketing manager and have since grown into multiple roles\, now serving as the Chief Growth Officer. In this role\, I oversee marketing\, business development\, and segment growth initiatives\, driving firm growth while ensuring that our strategies align with the firm’s long-term vision. \nMy approach to leadership focuses on turning challenges into opportunities—whether that’s enhancing our competitive position\, leveraging technology\, or refining sales and digital marketing strategies. By working closely with firm leadership\, I strive to ensure we not only meet but exceed our growth objectives by building a high-performing team\, driving strategic initiatives\, and adapting to the ever-changing landscape of the accounting industry.” \n  \nJonathan Ebenstein | President\, Strategic 7 Marketing \nJonathan is the President and owner of Strategic 7 Marketing\, a full-service B2B marketing agency that specializes in helping professional service firms make sense of their marketing and put it to work so it drives demand\, builds pipeline and supports predictable revenue. With more than 30 years of experience\, he is known for simplifying marketing complexity and connecting strategy to execution for CPA firms and other professional service companies. \nBefore founding Strategic 7 Marketing\, Jonathan served as Vice President of Marketing at Skoda Minotti\, a CPA and business advisory firm. In 2013\, he became the firm’s first non-CPA partner and served on its Executive Committee while building its award-winning brand. \nAfter Marcum LLP acquired Skoda Minotti in 2020\, Jonathan successfully spun off the marketing agency in 2021. He helps CPA firms build brand visibility\, sharpen market position\, and implement practical marketing programs that drive demand\, strengthen pipelines\, and support predictable revenue.

SUMMARY:AAM High! Webinar: From Skeptics to Activators: How Accounting Marketers Can Help Partners Change BD Behavior
DESCRIPTION:Many accounting firms know they need broader participation in business development\, but getting partners to change is hard. They are busy\, autonomous\, skeptical\, and often uncomfortable with anything that sounds like “sales.” Drawing on DCM Insights’ Activator research\, this webinar will show what today’s strongest business developers do differently — and what marketing and BD leaders can do to make those behaviors easier\, more credible\, and more likely to stick. \n  \nSpeaker \n \nKaren Freeman | Chief Product Officer\, DCM Insights \nKaren Freeman joins us from a career connected by data analytics\, research and teaching.  She was most recently the global head of digital & analytics learning for generalist consultants at McKinsey & Company. SUMMARY:Webinar: The Legal Reality of DEI: What Accounting Firms Need to Know Now
DESCRIPTION:As headlines swirl and political pressure intensifies\, many accounting firms are left wondering what diversity\, equity\, and inclusion really mean from a legal perspective and what’s still safe\, smart\, and compliant to pursue. \nIn this session\, employment attorney Aislinn Sroczynski of Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld cuts through the noise to explain what has actually changed in the legal landscape\, and what hasn’t. Drawing on federal anti-discrimination law\, recent executive orders\, and new guidance from the EEOC and DOJ\, Aislinn will help firms understand where the real legal lines are when it comes to DEI initiatives. \nThis is not a session about retreating from inclusion. It’s about moving forward thoughtfully. Attendees will learn how common firm practices\, from recruiting and employer branding to ERGs and training\, can remain both inclusive and compliant\, and why knee-jerk rollbacks often create more risk\, not less. \nWhether you’re shaping firm messaging\, managing people programs\, or advising leadership\, this session will help you replace uncertainty with clarity and confidence. \nKey takeaways: \n\nWhat DEI practices remain fully permissible\, and where firms need to be careful\nHow to align inclusion\, employer brand\, and compliance without overcorrecting\nPractical steps firms can take now to audit\, refine\, and strengthen their approach\n\n  \nSpeaker \nAislinn E. Sroczynski \nAislinn E. Sroczynski is an experienced employment lawyer who partners with companies to navigate the full spectrum of employment law. Aislinn advises employers on compliance\, policy development\, and day-to-day human resources issues\, including hiring practices\, leave management\, DEI policies\, non-competes\, accommodations\, wage and hour compliance\, workplace investigations\, performance management\, terminations\, and overall risk avoidance. She regularly defends employers against claims under Title VII\, ADA\, ADEA\, the FMLA\, and state anti-discrimination statutes\, and has experience representing clients before for National Labor Relations Board for Unfair Labor Practice charge proceedings. Aislinn represents companies and individuals on both sides of trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation and disputes and has successfully obtained preliminary injunctions for her clients. \nAislinn acts as an outside HR partner for employers on compliance and litigation avoidance related to all issues arising under state and federal anti-discrimination laws. She works closely with organizational leaders and HR teams to align legal strategy with business goals\, resolve disputes efficiently\, and build compliant\, proactive workplace practices. Aislinn has experience drafting and negotiating complex employment agreements and compensation plans\, both on behalf of employers and executives\, and drafts a variety of employer policy documents\, including employee handbooks for companies across a wide range of industries. \nSeparately\, Aislinn has insurance coverage experience\, representing clients in challenging claim denials and defending declaratory judgment actions. Aislinn has also handled complex commercial litigation matters\, including complex shareholder and business disputes\, representing clients in high-stakes negotiations and court proceedings. \n

SUMMARY:Learning Lab: Building Your BD Plan: A Framework for Marketing & BD Professionals at Accounting Firms
DESCRIPTION:Program Description\nMost marketing and BD professionals at CPA firms are handed a growth goal without a real plan for hitting it. The work ends up reactive: chasing whatever comes up\, responding to partner requests\, and hoping the pipeline fills itself. \nThis session gives you a better way. Neil Barrow and John Atkinson will walk through a practical\, repeatable framework for building a business development plan that fits a small or mid-sized accounting firm. You will learn how to get clear on your role and your firm’s growth priorities\, sharpen the way you talk about what your firm does\, figure out who you should actually be spending time with\, and turn all of it into a plan you can run week after week. \nThis is built for the people who do the work\, not for theory. You will leave with a structure you can put to use right away and the accountability tools to keep it going. \n  \nLearning Objectives\nAfter this session\, attendees will be able to: \n\nClarify their BD role and focus\, including where to spend time across new client acquisition\, cross-serving\, and brand building.\nBuild messaging that connects with real client problems and makes their firm’s differentiators clear.\nDefine an Ideal Client Profile and use it to prioritize targets\, referral partners\, and the right events and networks.\nCreate a repeatable BD plan that covers setting meetings\, running pursuits\, following through\, and qualifying needs.\nUse simple accountability tools like a Good Week Scorecard and a meeting rhythm to stay consistent and track what is working.\n\n  \nSpeakers \nJohn Atkinson | Founder & Managing Partner\, GrowthLogik \nJohn Atkinson is a recognized business development leader and coach with 30+ years of experience helping professional services firms drive sustained\, profitable growth. As the Founder of GrowthLogik\, he partners with CPA and advisory firms of all sizes to design practical growth systems\, build business development capabilities\, and coach professionals at every level. John has held senior leadership roles where he consistently led double-digit growth and built BD programs still in use today. Prior to launching GrowthLogik in 2024\, he started and sold 4 litigation support firms\, spent 11 years as VP of Business Development at Forvis Mazars and later served as Head of Revenue Growth at Fahrenheit Advisors\, where he launched and led the firm’s Sales Advisory Practice. \n  \nNeil Barrow | Founder + Chief BD Officer\, EnabledBD \nNeil started his career in software sales\, but (fortunately) got talked into public accounting\, where he led BD and origination efforts at two different firms for over eight years. Since then\, Neil has worked with over 40 firms to build or enhance their BD functions—proving that BD is not a soft skill. It’s a practical framework\, and when done right\, it develops people and drives results. Beyond Enabled BD\, Neil runs a monthly newsletter for professionals looking to get more BD tactics\, a podcast titled ‘I Hope This Email Finds You Well’ where he interviews BD professionals and leaders sharing strategies and tactics that work for them\, and also runs Underground BD\, an online community for BD professionals looking for clarity\, upskilling\, and support.

SUMMARY:AAM High! Webinar: M&A Marketing Integration: Lessons from Both Sides of the Deal
DESCRIPTION:A merger announcement looks effortless from the outside. New logo\, polished press release\, a confident “better together” message. What the market never sees is everything happening behind it: two client lists that don’t match\, proposals mid-flight under the old name\, a marketing team learning about the deal days before the world does. Clients and referral sources are watching that facade closely\, and they’re forming judgments about whether this deal was good for them. The first 100 days determine whether the seams show. \nJoin us for a candid panel conversation featuring both sides of the table: Jeff Mowery\, Founder of Mowery & Schoenfeld\, who brings the acquirer’s perspective from leading multiple firm acquisitions\, and Jen Lemanski\, Senior Marketing Manager at Withum\, who lived the acquired-side experience firsthand when PKF Texas was acquired by Withum and helped lead the marketing integration from the inside. \nTogether they’ll unpack what every accounting firm marketer needs to know before a deal lands on their desk\, including: \n\nAnnouncement readiness: controlling the narrative and sequencing communications so clients hear it from you\, not LinkedIn\nBrand transition decisions: The hidden inventory of touchpoints that trips firms up\nProtecting your seat at the table: how acquired-side marketers turn local market knowledge into job security\nThe PE factor: how private equity-backed roll-ups differ from strategic acquisitions\, and what that means for pace\, brand\, and how marketing gets measured\nLessons learned: what both panelists would do differently\, and the mistakes acquirers keep repeating\n\nWhether your firm is acquiring\, being acquired\, or just watching the consolidation wave sweep the profession\, you’ll leave with a practical playbook for making the transition look as seamless as the announcement promised. \nWho should attend: Marketing\, growth\, and business development professionals at accounting firms of all sizes\, plus managing partners who want their next deal to keep every client it came with. \n  \nSpeakers \nJeff Mowery\n \nJeff is the Managing Partner and co-founder of Mowery & Schoenfeld. He is committed to building up those around him by creating value for clients and employees of the Firm. \nJeff specializes in solving tax and strategic business problems for his clients\, with expertise in complex taxation issues for entrepreneurial businesses. \nJeff has been honored with prestigious awards including the Chicago Titan 100 Hall of Fame and a coveted spot on Forbes Magazine’s America’s Top 200 Accountants list. SUMMARY:Learning Lab: Empowering Future Firm Leaders Through Marketing & Business Development Training
DESCRIPTION:Program Description\nWhat if every staff member at your firm thought like a marketer? For most marketers\, that’s the dream. But the reality is that business development often feels out of reach for accountants. Kernutt Stokes bridged this gap with the KS Marketing Academy\, a firmwide program that equips professionals at every level with the skills\, confidence\, and accountability to actively engage in marketing and business development. \nIn just three years\, the KS Marketing Academy has evolved into a proven system with classes on networking\, LinkedIn\, client experience\, personal branding\, and more\, all backed by a scoring matrix that ties activities directly to staff evaluations. The results are compelling: more than 75% of staff engaged in at least one activity in 2025/26\, logging over 500 activities that advanced both their careers and the firm’s growth. \nThis hands-on workshop goes beyond “here’s what we did” to deliver step-by-step guidance you can apply immediately\, including: \n• How to structure a marketing & BD training program staff will actually use. \n• How to integrate AI to streamline content creation and execution. \n• How to measure\, monitor\, and reward participation so efforts stick. \nWhen the session is over\, you’ll have a practical roadmap for turning marketing and sales into a shared responsibility and a measurable growth driver across your firm. Class participants will also receive copies of three full class presentations from the 2025 KS Marketing Academy classes. \nTarget audience: Intermediate: Hands-on and Practical Application. Beneficial to attendees who do both marketing and business development. \nGood for firms of all sizes. \n  \nSpeaker \n\nAmy Delaney \nAmy is the director of marketing & business development at Kernutt Stokes\, a top-ranked CPA firm in Oregon. With 20 years of professional services marketing experience\, she leads her firm’s marketing\, brand\, and business development strategies. Since joining in 2020\, she has transformed KS’s marketing into innovative\, measurable\, and creative programs. Known for blending big-picture strategy with hands-on execution\, she is also committed to building a strong internal culture through our KS Marketing Academy and KS Keystones programs. She is active in AAM’s “Department of One” Circle and BDO Alliance’s Marketing Roundtable\, and has spoken at events across the country\, including AAM Summit\, BDO Alliance USA Evolve\, the ABA Bank Marketing Conference\, and the University of Oregon. \nAmy created the KS Marketing Academy in 2022 to equip her firm’s staff with strategies and skills to succeed in marketing and business development. The program empowers staff to grow their careers while directly advancing firm goals. The program provides a tangible way of monitoring\, measuring\, and evaluating staff involvement. Over 75% of staff – from associates to managers – participated in 2025/2026\, with more than 500 activities recorded. \nWhen she is not working\, Amy she is with her dog Finnegan\, spending time with her family and friends\, cheering on the Oregon Ducks\, watching sports\, traveling\, gardening\, cooking\, or wine tasting.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Elevating the Client Experience by Enhancing Executive Functioning Skillsets
DESCRIPTION:Executive functioning (EF) is a term gaining traction across education\, organizational strategy\, and leadership conversations\, and for good reason. In this session\, we’ll explore why executive functioning matters in public accounting specifically\, and how marketers can use this lens to improve communication\, timing\, and effectiveness across the client experience. \nWe’ll examine how human behavior intersects with the environments and systems we design\, and how thoughtful structure and support can improve both individual performance and organizational regulation. In today’s accounting firms\, marketers are increasingly called on to act as translators\, planners\, and problem-solvers. Understanding these dynamics requires a blend of strategy\, psychology\, and systems thinking to meet the evolving demands of the modern workforce and client base. \nWhat does this look like in practice? Consider the difference between ease\, clarity\, and shared responsibility versus avoidance\, miscommunication\, and reactive behavior driven by constant urgency. These patterns are easy to recognize\, but far more challenging to shift. That’s where awareness and intentional design come in to build foundational skills and frameworks that are flexible\, scalable\, and aligned with the expectations of today’s firm leaders and next-generation clients. \nThis session positions executive functioning not as an HR concept\, but as a business lever. When firms reduce friction\, improve follow-through\, and create more predictable client interactions\, they save time\, reduce rework\, and protect margins while also addressing the very real pressures of stress and burnout that affect teams across the profession. \nUltimately\, this is an investment in internal infrastructure that pays dividends externally. By streamlining workflows and strengthening the client experience\, firms can increase efficiency and compliance without relying on outdated incentive models. The shift doesn’t happen all at once\, but it does start with consistently applying intentional habits\, one decision at a time. \n  \nSpeaker\nBrandee El-Attar: Award winning Assistant Professor of Human Services at Goldey Beacom College\, Ted X Speaker\, Best Selling Author\, Executive Functioning Coach\, Founder of Luminary Leadership Co.  \nBrandee is a dynamic and forward-thinking leader with 25+ years in human services\, dedicated to empowering students\, parents\, and communities. As a keynote speaker\, workshop facilitator\, and college educator\, she brings authenticity\, energy\, and practical insights to every engagement. Passionate about creating positive cultures and being a change agent for good\, Brandee bridges the gap between knowledge and real-life application. With expertise in behavioral principles\, motivation\, and best practices\, she fosters collaboration\, inspires growth\, and creates lasting impact across industries through her meaningful\, high-quality work. \nOn a personal note\, Brandee strives to live a life that is brimming with love\, light\, and meaningful experiences and she is dedicated to personal growth\, continual improvement\, and positive change. She routinely bucks the status quo and believes deeply in purposeful parenting. She is an avid lover of books\, coffee\, chocolate\, inspirational quotes\, gardening & exploring the great outdoors with her family.
