SUMMARY:Virtual Campfire: The Marketing Ops Makeover
DESCRIPTION:Marketing operations is the backbone of modern accounting marketing—but most firms are still catching up. This session focuses on elevating your tech stack\, data\, and reporting to drive smarter decision-making and better outcomes. We’ll trade tips\, tools\, and lessons learned so you can build an ops engine that supports both efficiency and innovation. \nWhat is a Virtual Campfire? Pull up a seat and join fellow accounting marketers around the virtual campfire for peer-to-peer conversations about what’s really happening in our firms. These informal\, member-driven sessions are designed as a safe space to share pressing challenges\, compare notes\, and learn from each other’s experiences. Co-hosted by industry veterans\, Kelsey Brewer (CMO at McGuire Sponsel) and Alyson Fieldman (CGO at Stambaugh Ness)\, each virtual campfire features at least one subject matter expert to share their wisdom. \nThere’s no formal presentation – just open\, candid dialogue. Regardless of the topic du jour\, this is your place to ask questions\, swap stories\, and crowdsource solutions with people who truly get it. Open to AAM members at all career levels and in all roles. Come ready to share\, listen\, and leave with fresh perspective\, practical ideas\, and the reassuring reminder that you’re not in this alone. \nSpeaker \nMike Jones | Managing Partner & CEO\, at Resound \n\nMike is Managing Partner & CEO at Resound. He works directly with accounting (and other professional services) firms to unlock their remarkable brands through his award-winning branding agency\, Resound – established in 2009. His agency has worked with many accounting firms to establish\, refine\, and grow their brands\, not least Richey May\, Rea & Associates\, Brown Plus\, Henry+Horne\, Larson\, and Weinstein Spira. \n\n\nMike also co-founded Kindred – a BD consultancy that helps professional services to improve their client acquisition and retention through relationship-first sales strategies. \n\n\n(He also founded his own apparel brand devoted to American political history\, called Taftly. But that’s a story for another time.) \n\n\nMike has been a member of the Association for Accounting Marketing since 2017 chairing the AAM Podcast Committee and leading the Public Speaking Circle. He and his team at Resound have developed the first ever brand differentiation measurement in the accounting industry known as the Remarkarband Index for Accounting Firms. \n\n\nIn recognition of the work he’s done\, this Arizona native has been named one of the state’s top business leaders under the age of 40 by the Phoenix Business Journal as well as a 35-Under-35 entrepreneurial award from the Arizona Republic in 2016. \n\nMike lives in the very sunny vale of Mesa\, AZ with his wife and three kids. When he’s not working hard he’s backpacking in the mountains\, reading a history book\, or drinking a good cup of coffee…sometimes all three at the same time. If you want to connect\, LinkedIn’s usually where you’ll find him – linkedin.com/in/remarkamike.

Bring your best ideas and biggest hurdles for a high-energy conversation on consistent\, predictable pipeline generation. He’s also the host of ‘I hope this email finds you well’\, a business development podcast interviewing BD leaders and pros where they share stories around what actually works to generate revenue in professional services. \nHe’s a software sales guy that was (fortunately) talked into working in public accounting\, leading origination efforts at 2 different firms for over 8 years. Since then\, he’s worked with dozens of firms to build or enhance their business development function (spoiler: BD is not a soft skill). More importantly\, he is a Certified Cicerone (beer sommelier) and loves connecting with friends and strangers to chat about business development and/or best beers to try. Most importantly\, he lives in Fort Worth with his wife of over a decade and a kiddo who is dominating kindergarten. \n
