April 2023: 📈Strategic Planning: How to Get a Seat at the Table and Build Your Firm’s Plan
Beginner’s Guide: Strategic planning is the foundation for growth and sustainability, and is an essential component of any accounting firm. Without a plan, the firm will likely struggle to recruit, grow and improve. If you have never participated in a strategic planning process, knowing where to start or what questions to ask can be overwhelming. Consider taking these questions to leadership to get things rolling.
Seasoned Marketer: These days, plenty of firms are at capacity and either not taking on new clients or being very selective about the clients they do onboard. This might limit some of the responsibilities you have as a marketer, but there are still plenty of ways to make an impact! Here are 16 ideas.
Articles of Interest: In this month’s articles of interest, I am sharing five books on strategy that you can utilize in strategic planning for your firm’s marketing. Although the links are to Amazon, they can also be borrowed for free at your local library or borrowed from online libraries like Hoopla.

Business Development: Let’s face it. The accounting profession has changed substantially in the past several years, only to be catapulted into true disruption throughout and after the pandemic. In many firms, some changes are for good (flexibility and an increased culture focus), and some are less desirable (isolation, exacerbated talent, and communication issues). Changes in the profession force firms to rethink strategies for success. Accounting firm leaders are navigating a new reality that impacts their plans for the firm’s future. Read more in this month’s Business Development article.
